The Tortoises of Osman
VIEWThe painting “The Tortoise Trainer”, of Osman Hamdi Bey was interpreted as describing the weary state of an intellectual who tried to modernize a backward society, especially when there was no clear inspiration. Osman Hamdi Bey satirizes himself in the painting by showing himself as a tamer, and his subordinates, who cannot adapt to his own way of doing business, as turtles trying to reach the food. Yvette Mizrahi was inspired by this painting and designed a collection called “The Tortoises of Osman”.

Colors of Life
I dive into the oceans, to touch the deepest blue. I fly to the clouds, to dress pure white. In the dark of night, I taste the sadness of black. And most of all I throw myself into the rainbow, to feel all the colors of life.
*Cloisonné is an ancient enameling art technique for decorating metalwork objects. After having areas separated by metal wires, colored enamel (powder glass) is filled in these areas and fired under intense heat (+850°C). Until the last appearance, this process is repeated.

Journey to Serenity
Yvette Mizrahi created a special collection for the “1492 Goke Exhibition” which was held in London on July 2-7 2018. With her collection “Journey to Serenity”, she intended to convey the emotional aspect of Jews’ journey from Spain to the Ottoman provinces in 1492. Mizrahi made use of wave and fish figures, as she believed they were Jews’ companions in their challenging journey. She also used hand figures to symbolize “God’s hands” to depict that His power was always present in their journey. Mizrahi decorated her collection with Turquoise stones that are known as “Turkish Stones” to add a colorful Turkish touch to the jewels.VIEW

That moment is the beginning of her one day life. She flies around and enjoys each moment she lives. Knowing that life is only one moment, with a great enthusiasm, she wings …wings…and wings.

In order to achieve this we have to ‘’listen to the kids inside us’’, who is the source of our enthusiasm, intuition and wisdom.
